It is only through the generous donations made to the SGS each year that we are able to care for our collection and share them with the wider public. If you would like to make a donation other than by PayPal, then please send a cheque addressed to Spalding Gentlemen’s Society and post to:

Leaving a Gift in Your Will

The Spalding Gentlemen’s Society is a registered charity that relies on annual subscriptions and donations in order to care for the collection. Remembering the Spalding Gentlemen’s Society by leaving a gift in your will, no matter what size, can help us care for the collections, promote research and conservation and develop for the future.

Should you decide to make a gift to the Spalding Gentlemen’s Society, you can choose to leave either a share of the residue of your estate or a fixed amount. It is very simple to leave a gift to the SGS in your Will. If you would like to leave a share of the
residue of your estate, your professional adviser may find the following wording helpful:

‘ I/We give all/a share of (please state fraction/percentage) the residue of our/my estate to the Spalding Gentlemen’s Society, Broad Street, Spalding, PE11 1TB, Registered Charity Number 216131, to be applied for the general purposes of the Spalding Gentlemen’s Society, and I/we direct that the receipt of a proper officer for the time being of the Spalding Gentlemen’s Society shall be a complete discharge to my/our Executors.’

Should you wish to make a gift of a fixed amount, set out below is suggested wording which your professional adviser can use:

‘I/We give to the Spalding Gentlemen’s Society, Broad Street, Spalding, PE11 1TB, Registered Charity Number 216131, to be applied for the general purposes of the Spalding Gentlemen’s Society, the sum of [amount in figures, amount in words] and I/we direct that the receipt of a proper officer for the time being of the Spalding Gentlemen’s Society shall be a complete discharge to my/our Executors.’
